Ever heard of a little radio show called Cabin Pressure? No? A lot of people haven’t. Which is a crying shame, because this little radio show by John Finnemore (who also plays a main character) is hysterical, entertaining, and has enough episodes to more than take up your long flights, car trips, or train rides. And for those of you out there who are Sherlock fans, it has Benedict Cumberbatch sounding very unlike a detective as an indignant, not very good pilot.
Here is the official BBC Radio 4 page. They have several available for streaming, as well as every episode for purchase. There’s 27 episodes, from A- Z, with the finale split into two parts. With French polar bears, a paranoid bassoonist, a stuffed sheep, and Scottish cricket players carrying a fire engine, there’s always something hilarious in each episode.
